My Favorite Bookstore: Cherokee Mystery Novel Book Signing

Something for your calendar, from a “Full Circle Bookstore” Press Release:
Murder is on the menu in “The
American Café,” the second installment in the Sadie Walela series by Sara Sue
Hoklotubbe. The Cherokee author will sign copies and give a reading of her
latest murder mystery at 2 pm Sunday, Aug. 28, at Full Circle Bookstore in
Oklahoma City.
Set in the Cherokee country of northeastern Oklahoma
where Hoklotubbe grew up, “The American Café” is the story of a blue-eyed Cherokee woman
who sets out to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a restaurant and ends up
unraveling a multilayered mystery of denial, deceit and murder. Sadie draws on
the intuition and perseverance of her Cherokee ancestry as she delves into the
mysterious slaying of the restaurant’s previous owner.
The series gives readers
a view into Native American culture in small-town Oklahoma and the real lives of
contemporary American Indians. “Deception on All Accounts,” the first novel in the
series, earned Hoklotubbe the Writer of the Year award by Wordcraft Circle of
Native Writers and Storytellers.
She and her husband reside in Oklahoma and Colorado.
Full Circle Bookstore is located on the first level
of 50 Penn Place.
