CNN Sports Super Bowl XXX memories

A Super Bowl memory I originally posted on my sports blog, scorecardscribblings.com

The Sports Guy: Scorecard Scribblings From An Ordinary Journalist: The Sports Guy

It was Super Bowl XXX, January 28, 1996. History tells us the Cowboys beat the Steelers, 27-17 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. When CNN Sports offered dominant, unprecedented TV sports coverage, shows like NFL Preview and more were among the most highly watched programs on the network. This was my first Super Bowl as a sportscaster.

I was lucky to be there for several years before CNN Sports went away, including that big game in the desert alongside so many great producers, reporters and anchors. I spent most of my time in the lead-in coverage handling stories about the underdog Steelers. The wonderful Daryn Kagan, who many of you know from her long career as a CNN News anchor, was on the Cowboys side. Of course we helped each other out and supported a huge team effort covering this event as a whole.
